The brand had come to be known for their boxes’ unique artwork, featuring fantastical scenes of plants and animals, and this needed to be reflected in the seasonal box.

Upon understanding the client’s vision, we recommended transforming the beloved boxes into keepsake tins, which could be repurposed by retail customers, and protected the tea within. Lead content was a concern, as printing inks often contain the toxic element.

Using our expertise and understanding of the project requirements, we worked on behalf of the client and factory to test everything and ensure complete FDA compliance, including no lead content used in the printing of the tin.

We also advised on product design, to ensure the bright, intricate artwork on the original boxes was replicated on the tins. This included logo bumping for a 3D effect, and a 7-color process to help the colors pop.

Celestial Seasonings found great success with the tins, and continues to order them today with no end plan in sight.
